MBUK: X-Fusion’s new air offering

For a long time, X-Fusion have been the purveyors of budget yet respectable suspension units. Now though, after an intense couple of years of top rider recruitment – including the likes of Brian Lopes and Tyler McCaul – they’re starting to release top-end bits of kit, such as the Vector rear shock.

However, the really big news is the arrival of the new Vector Air HLR – the brand’s first DH-ready air-can. The meaty 31.5mm damper-bodied shock tips the scales at just 487g, which is pretty damn impressive for a full-on DH shock.

Aside from the easy air spring adjustment you can also fiddle with the reservoir, rebound, high and low-speed compression, and bottom-out. With more and more of the big names on the World Cup circuit turning to large-volume aircans, the new Vector Air HLR is one of the few air-specific downhill shocks available to the masses.

X-Fusion also offer their mor ‘traditional’ coil shock as well, the Vector HLR. It uses their CVS system, designed to separate rebound from compression circuits to ensure a better consistency of feel.
