HTC-Highroad Finishes On Top

San Luis Obispo – Tony Martin, Judith Arndt and Mark Cavendish's victories in the World Championships last week capped off five years of remarkable athletic success for High Road Sports. Cavendish's win of the Road Race on Sunday marked the 509th win for the team since 2008 and the 119th win this season for the men and women's team combined. Also over the weekend, Highroad riders Matthew Goss and Ina-Yoko Teutenberg earned Silver and Bronze medals in the road race, giving the team a total of five medals at the World Championships.

"These great performances top off an unmatched five years of athletic success" said Team Owner Bob Stapleton. "These results are the product of a remarkable group of people - athletes, managers, staff and expert support. We can all be proud to see our success continue through the entire season."

Friends of Lezyne in the News
San Luis Obispo – In addition to HTC-Highroad's phenomenal performance at worlds, Lezyne friends Mitch Ropelato and Jill Kintner had awesome performances at USA Downhill National Championships in Beech Mountain. Jill Kintner (RedBull - Transition Racing) took gold by over 2 seconds and claimed her second national title. Kintner also took gold in Saturday's Dual Slalom competition.

On the Men's side, Mitch Ropelato (SPS North America) has an amazing run on the downhill course and claimed bronze. It was an impressive run considering he finished third just under 4 seconds behind the likes of Logan Binggeli (KHS) and Arron Gwin (Trek World Racing).

LEZYNE NEWS - HTC Doubles up on TT World Champions // More Lezyne Love

San Luis Obispo, CA – HTC-Highroad's Tony Martin and Judith Arndth placed their stamp of authority on the Copenhagen TT course and won both the Elite Men's and Women's World Time Trial Championships this week. Arndt won Gold in the Elite Women's TT on Tuesday with a commanding gap of 20 seconds over the other contenders. This is Arndt's first World Time Trial Rainbow Jersey, and her twelfth win of the season.

Martin followed up Arndt's victory with one of his own on Wednesday, dominating the field and setting the fastest times at every check point. Martin finished a minute and fifteen seconds ahead of silver medalist, Bradley Wiggins. "The course was pretty flat," said Martin, "I normally would prefer a few climbs, but I was able to find a good rhythm and really push myself at every opportunity to accelerate."

HTC-Highroad's Bert Grabsch finished fourth behind Cancellara, while Martin took his eighth win this year with five of said victories in time trials. This marks HTC-Highroad's second rainbow jersey this week, and the one hundred and eighteenth win of the 2011 season.

Pivot's new Mach 5.7 Carbon doesn't just muddy the line between cross-country and trail bike. It erases it altogether, offering up a remarkably perky feel - better than some dedicated race bikes we've ridden - while still delivering a healthy 144mm of rear wheel travel and a rewardingly progressive frame geometry.

Speedfil A2 and F2

New for 2011 are the Speedfil A2 & F2 hydration systems. These new systems are patent pending and allow any standard "specialized" style water bottle to be converted into a Speedfil system. The A2 system is optimized for use in the aerobars and the F2 system is best suited for use on the bicycle frame.

Redditch WMCCL

The 1st west Midland race was on sunday in Redditch. It was a really tough course with lots of hills and fast decents.
I had a pretty bad start after a bad gridding position so spent quite a bit of time moving up the field trying to overtake on single track which wan't easy. After the 1st climb my legs were burning and I was feeling sick but with a bit of time to recover on the decents I soon settled in to a good pace. I had quite a good lead with 2 laps to go so kept the pressure on to win the race.
With a good start to the season i'm feeling quite confident about whats to come and even more determined to make it successful.

it's when it came time to wash my hair after the ride was over that i realised why the woman on the couch at debbie's seemed in somewhat of a hurry to drink her cappuccino and leave. at least, i think that may have been the reason. of course, it could be simple paranoia. i seem to have brought a substantial portion of bridgend woods home in my ponytail. imagine the embarrasment of munching my cheese and pickle roll looking like a body double from the beechgrove garden. the reason was all too obvious; that little climb to the old cottage was approached with way too little speed, and it was a foregone conclusion i'd end up exploring the undergrowth from a horizontal aspect.

Eurobike 2011: Reynolds get serious about disc brakes for cyclo-cross

We’ve been waiting a while for one of the major manufacturers to offer a top-flight, off-the-peg, disc-brake-specific cyclo-cross wheelset, and it’s Reynolds who've shown their hand first. The Assault CX is based around their top-rated Assault road wheel with its 46mm-deep full-carbon rim.

This is matched to a disc-specific Reynolds hub with 24 DT Revolution spokes laced in a two-cross pattern. The Assault CX doesn't have a confirmed price yet but we expect it to be similar to that of the road variant. Weight-wise, the new hoops come in at a very respectable 1,716g a pair for the clincher versions or 1,496g for tubular. Both are compatible with six-bolt rotors but retain their standard braketrack. A non-disc version will also be available.

Eurobike 2011: DMR and Reynolds from Singletrack Magazine on Vimeo.

We take a look at the latest version of the hardcore do-it-all full susser from DMR, the Bolt. Full 4130 steel frame, 125mm of travel at the rear with a BB shell pivot and replaceable dropouts for a singlespeed or geared setup. Combined with a new tapered headtube that’ll take forks up to 170mm, it should be a sturdy option for a bit of jumping, mini DH or general woodsy ragging…

On the lighter (weight) side of life, we take a look at the new range of carbon fibre wheelsets from Reynolds, with new 29″ XC and tough 26″ all mountain clincher wheelsets, both coming with a load of axle options.
