Lezyne introduce RAP 7 LED multi-tool with integrated light
At the Cycle Show yesterday Lezyne showed us their brand new RAP 7 LED multi-tool, featuring an integrated LED light. Is it the first multi-tool to combine a light? We're certainly stuggling to think of any others out there.

The TK3 is the King of Affordable Winter Bikes
I’m a big fan of the UK’s Kinesis bikes and in fact had a proper love affair (or was it more of a fling thanks to the limited time we spent together?) with the Granfondo Ti or GF_Ti early in 2012

Cycle Show 2012: Kinesis Racelight TK3 breaks cover
Despite the raft of carbon fibre super bikes packed into the Cycle Show’s three halls at the NEC in Birmingham, it was a British-designed, aluminum winter bike – the Kinesis Racelight TK3 – that turned heads.

Kinesis will be officially unveiling their brand new TK3, a major update of their classic winter training bike, at the Cycle Show later this week at the Birmingham NEC.
The TK3 builds on the success of the TK2 winter road bike and draws on current road frame trends with a tapered head tube into which slots a matching painted Tracer carbon fork - a first for the TK.

Eurobike 2012: Pivot Cycles – Les is more?
It seems that after introducing their first carbon fibre framed bike last year in the form of the Mach 5.7 Carbon, Pivot Cycles have really caught the bug with the release of another two brand spanking new bikes made from the black stuff. Even more newsworthy is the fact that one of the new composite bikes is a bone-fide hardtail, completely lacking in springs at the back, a surprise for a company that prides themselves on their suspension bikes.

Pivot Takes a Step Back in Time - Pivotles carbon hardtail 29er
Pivot was founded on a series of successful dual-link full-suspension bikes that run the gamut from XC racing to World Cup downhillers and until now, there was no hardtail in the lineup. The 29-inch-wheel Pivotles (pun intended) is Pivot's first hardtail and it looks to be a winner, with a beautiful carbon fiber frame that can be converted into a single-speed with the addition of a clever interchangeable rear dropout system. Pivotles frames weigh only 2.5 pounds in the medium size and feature modern, technical-terrain-friendly geometry and a number of innovative elements that underscore designer Chris Cocalis' incessant quest for improvement. Pivotles frames cost $1999 and are sold in small, medium, large and X-large sizes. Colors are Orange or matte carbon with either red or blue accents.

Keith Murray Race Report - Win No 16!!
A windy weekend saw me have a poor (by my standards) ride on Saturday in the Stone Whs event which had attracted a top class field. A full tailwind on the longer outward leg I was going well and in the top few, but my lack of recent training showed on the return leg where I faded and lost approx. a minute & a half finishing in 51:26. Still a respectable time, but only good enough for 11th place and one of my poorest placings of the season!

LEZYNE UPDATES BIKE LIGHTS, PUMPS AND CREATES THE BEST. MINI TOOL. EVER.
Lezyne showed off all sorts of fancy new integrated lens technology on their commuter and cycling lights, one with two bulbs and a thousand lumens. But the new RAP multitools with a single lumen LED pen light that slides over an allen key stole my heart.

DMR Show 2013 Line-up
It seems a long time since DMR first appeared on the radar. Back then, in 1995, they were known for resurrecting the well known and unavailable for years design of the original Shimano DX flat pedal. Playing to a burgeoning and growing dirt jump fraternity in the UK their range expanded to include frames with the massively successful Trailstar & Sidekick and now, 17 years later, they have an even bigger line up. Pinkbike takes a few minutes here to look at what they have on offer.

But that’s what were here for; delivering only the best of the best. San Luis Obispo, CA – The Lezyne crew would like to invite all of our fans and friends to visit our new booth at the 2012 Interbike Tradeshow from September 19-21st in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our recently launched 2013 line of cycling accessories, including the all new LED line, will be on display in OUR NEW BOOTH LOCATION!!……Booth 15106. Eurobike 2012: X-Fusion forks and dropper
The gap between the bottom and the top of the suspension market seems to be ever increasing. Although entry level forks are undoubtedly better than they’ve ever been, the addition of new technology to give lighter weight, durability and performance at the top has come at the expense of well, expense and there’s a gap between the technology haves and the have-nots that looked like it was growing rapidly.

Eurobike 2012: Lezyne lights
Some of the more desirable products on display at Eurobike were found, unsurprisingly, on the Lezyne stand.
Pairs fair - The guys at Lezyne were keen to extoll the virtues of buying in pairs, they had a point. If you’re the last member of the chain gang and you don’t have a rear light, your buddies aren’t safe either, diminishing your popularity in a direct ratio to the increased danger faced by riding colleagues.
To that end, there’s a discount for buying a front and rear light together. Front and rear Micro Drive lights will cost £69.99 as a set, or £39.99 a piece. Similarly, £84.99 will get you the Macro Drive front light and Micro Drive rear; a saving of nearly a tenner on the cost of purchasing the same lights individually.
All of the lights described here are winging their way to RCUK Towers for test and we’ll report our findings in the weeks ahead

FIRST LOOK! NEW CROSSLIGHT EVO5 AND RACELIGHT Tk3.
First Crosslight EVO5 and Racelight Tk3 framesets are in
We flew these in for photography but the stock is following closely behind. Sales have the latest info.
Big news for these frames is the new taper headtube and colour matched, monocoque carbon forks.
Tk3 fork is pretty unique, I don't think there is another winter frame with taper 1.5, monocoque carbon fork with clearance for full 'guard, 28c tyre and long drop brake on the market.

Kinesis Gran Fondo Sc in Cycling Plus
“Kinesis has delivered a sprightly, comfortable yet exciting ride with plenty of versatility at a price that’s hard to beat.”
The long-distance ambitions of the bike are also reflected in its geometry, very much in sportive territory.
The tall head-tube gives a quite upright riding position; the long chain stays lengthen the wheelbase and add a dose of stability.
…. the steering response lively rather than sedate, but it’ll still track perfectly when you’re pedalling briskly.
Give it some real beans though, and the GranFondo responds through tight turns or when you’re flashing through traffic, the steering never feeling anything other than composed.
The slim tubes not only provide the look of steel, but they deliver a ride that’s similar to the ferrous metal.
Over broken tarmac the Kinesis feels lively, almost buoyant, at normal riding speeds and without any jarring..
The frame is designed to accommodate 28mm tyres, or 25mm tyres with mudguards, and has Tektro mid-drop brakes to cope with the extra reach.
The bike comes with mudguards, but we left them off in the dry. There are also fittings for a rack, which adds versatility, opening the GranFondo up to touring and commuting.
Kinesis has delivered a sprightly, comfortable yet exciting ride with plenty of versatility at a price that’s hard to beat.

When it came time to remake the Mach 429 trail 29er
When it came time to remake the Mach 429 trail 29er, Pivot owner Chris Cocalis and his designers took their sweet time. Why rush it, he must have thought? The existing aluminum model rode superbly, had thousands of happy customers and was one of the top 29ers available. But since its introduction, competitors had introduced high-performance carbon models that weighed less and cost about the same.

Spy shots: Brendan Fairclough’s signature DMR Vault Brendog pedals look mean as hell!
The DMR boys told us about these Brendog pedals earlier in the month, but this is the first time we’ve laid eyes on them. So what’s so special about them? They’ve got a matt black finish, more aggressive Moto Pins and, er, well, that’s about it. The low-profile Vaults are modern classics, though, so that’s fine with us. Just don’t expect them to help you whip like Fairclough.

Pivot Firebird review
Despite having as much travel as pure downhill bikes of a few years ago, Pivot’s Firebird really does rise again after it’s scorched its way to the bottom of the hill. It’s perfect if you want to wring every last drop of fun from the descents, but don’t want to walk or shuttle back up.
