Luke Smith Interview

dirt cover 30 Dirt Cover stars: Luke Smith
For those of you old enough to remember Luke Smith was DMR's 1st 'proper' rider. A local kid who grew up from a local 'gromm' to an international FMX star.

DMR Wingbar and Swarm Stem - PinkBike.com

Much like the Swarm stem pictured above, the Alloy Wingbar has a beautiful anodized finish that didn't get scratched once, despite the fact that I've crashed a few times and set it up on three different bikes. Beyond the appearance, the Wingbar is a fairly traditional riser bar, which may or may not appeal to your riding style. I personally have not yet joined the wide and flat revolution because I don't feel comfortable jumping with them. For that reason I loved the geometry of the Wingbar and you will as well if you ride hard and like traditional feeling riser bars. There are both 25.4 mm and 31.8 mm Alloy Wingbars available depending on your stem clamp diameter.
It's definitely built with toughness and looks in mind, not for the gram counters out there. But if your gig is freeriding, dirt jumping, slopestyle, or general tom foolery, the Swarm will take your abuse and look good at the same time. - Tyler Wilkes

Green Oil on Bike Biz

bikebiz awards, green oil
Speaking to Bikebiz, Green Oil founder Simon Nash said: "Green Oil basically came out of a frustration with other brands on the shelf at the time. ‘Contains PTFE’ and ‘Dangerous for the environment’ with the accompanying dead fish and tree logo were things I found unacceptable for products for my bike – especially riding through rivers and in rain.

Nearly there......

This from Ben at Singletrack ; "Somewhat amazingly there are two extremely similar zero-stack tapered standards available nowadays. And by extremely similar I mean that the difference between them is that the Outer Diameter (OD) of the bottom cup of one of the standards is 54.92mm and the OD of the bottom cup of the other one is 55.95mm. The Mach 4 takes the standard with the 55.95mm OD bottom cup. Guess which headset I ended up with?

Green Oil on Singletrack (part 2)

"One of the few, truly new products at the Cycle Show was this new wax based lubricant from Green Oil. As you might expect from a company that likes to keep things simple, it’s called White and it’s an eco friendly dry lube that uses natural beeswax along with plant solvents to provide a thinner, drier and less grit-attractive way to keep your chain happy. Managing director Simon says it’s especially good for the bees, who get given extra food to make them overproduce the wax. The tiny earbuds they use to collect the wax from the bees are also made from natural plant fibres."
