KM220L First Ride

Tom from Green Park Bike Station in Bath recently built up a rather nice KM220L based MTB for friend Becci.

Here’s how the first ride went;

“We’ve had a great day out on some super singletrack around Bath for a first proper ride of Becci’s new women’s specific mtb. We hit the first hill, Brown’s Folly, which is super steep and the lightweight frame and XT groupset plus wheels saw Becci shoot up in record time! The agility of the frame (and rider!) made popping up over the rooty uphill section no problem.

At the top we let some air out of the tyres as its pretty moist and slippery still what with the excuse for summer we’re experiencing at the moment. The bike performed brilliantly on the gentle flowing downhill singletrack, the compact geometry and women specific sizing making short work of tucking round the tight twisty bends.

There’s more for Becci to get out of this bike, she’s looking forward to hitting Ashton Court in Bristol soon, and pushing the bike to see what it can do. Next time I’ll be sure to have a double shot espresso before we set off, there’s speed in those wheels!”
